The wiki thrives off of its users and their contributions.

Only with your help can we keep everything up to date and as useful as possible for everyone!

How can you contribute

There are a lot of ways to help for all different kinds of situations. Whether you can invest a lot of effort or a little. Only in bursts or every day a few minutes. Here are some of the most prominent ones!

Request and Suggest

For people who use the wiki but can't dedicate a lot of time towards it.

The best ideas don't come from a single head! Request or suggest help us and other contributors to get ideas, prioritize and implement new things. Help us spend our time in the best way!

We have a few convenient ways to send feedback our way.

This page is moderated so your suggestion may not show up on the page right away. We will get around to it. We will definitely see it and approve it.

Which also protects your requests from vandalism and accidental removal!

This may contain everything from visualization, design and structure changes to certain forms of content which you would like to receive a standard and be more diligently moderated for design and form than the rest of the wiki.

  • Something hard to read, jarring to the eye or plain ugly? Let our interface admins know what to focus on over at Wiki_Design_Requests

  • Outdated content, inappropriate behavior, technical issues or feature requests can also be submitted via this form!

Minor Edits

For people who use the wiki a lot but can't dedicate a large amount of time towards it.

See a spelling mistake or grammatical error? Is that sentence formulated in a long and windy way?

If you stumble upon such minor issues, edit and fix the issue! Details are easily overlooked and there is a lot of content to care for!

You do not even need to sign up in order to edit, just click on the "Edit" button in the top right, fix it and click on "Save Page"!

The change may not show up immediately. Unregistered and new users can not directly submit content but must be approved by an editor first.

Create pages

For people who can contribute a few hours at once but can't be dedicate time on a regular basis.

New engine versions, features and generally incomplete information. The wiki is only as valuable as its content!

Any addition, update or modification helps the wiki grow in size and helps us being a better resource of information for everyone!

If you have questions about formatting, design or anything of the sorts feel free to set by the discord, we are happy to help!

A list of requested and valuable pages to create is being worked on to give a guideline about good topics to dedicate time on!

Maintain pages

For people who can contribute a few minutes every couple of days.

Pick a set of pages that are important to you or in need of improvement and fix them up!

This can include checking new pages, categorizing them, reformatting them into a more standardized format across the wiki, updating the content to also cover newer engine versions.

Adopting pages isn't really a formal process and can require as little or much time as you can contribute.

Structural changes should be discussed with the other regular users first.

It is highly recommended to create an account at this stage as users will quickly and automatically ascend towards trusted users who do not need to be approved for changes to show up and editors who can approve changes made by others giving you all the tools we can offer to take care of and improve these pages without obstacles!

Interface Admin

For people with experience in web development, CSS and MediaWiki who can contribute a fair amount of time in bursts or continuously.

An interface admin is like a normal user but has the power to modify the CSS on the page.

Additionally they help write MediaWiki templates, help implementing extensions and have a lot of influence over the structure and presentation of the wiki.

Moderate

For people who visit the wiki every other day anyway, spend a fair amount of time contributing and improving the wiki and remain a level head even when things get heated.

Some users who show dedication and the kind of behavior one would expect from a moderator will be given this special role.

The task of a moderator is to make sure that approvals / rejections of user contributions are handled relatively quickly. That disagreements on wiki pages during discussions or potential edit wars are handled in a mature and constructive way and that the most central pages are kept up to date.

Moderators have the same privileges as editors plus the ability to protect pages. Only moderators are able to protect pages.
